Before evolving into one of the most important commercial centers in the United States and internationally, Inglewood, CA began with the Cantilena adobe, built by Ignacio Machado in 1834. Machado was the son of a soldier who worked tirelessly to protect the first Los Angeles settlers en route from Mexico.
Today, Inglewood, CA is located on the Pacific Rim shore and is a focal point for domestic and international trade thanks to its proximity to the Los Angeles International Airport, accessible via Inglewood's Century Boulevard. It also provides easy access to the other four significant freeways and Long Beach Harbors.

Open Studio event is a festive weekend tour of artist studios that features photography, drawing, painting, and more. A group of volunteer artists supported by the Inglewood Cultural Arts organization put together the event every year.
