Welcome to Inglewood

An essential commercial center with a thriving arts scene and a variety of housing options.

Before evolving into one of the most important commercial centers in the United States and internationally, Inglewood, CA began with the Cantilena adobe, built by Ignacio Machado in 1834. Machado was the son of a soldier who worked tirelessly to protect the first Los Angeles settlers en route from Mexico.

Today, Inglewood, CA is located on the Pacific Rim shore and is a focal point for domestic and international trade thanks to its proximity to the Los Angeles International Airport, accessible via Inglewood's Century Boulevard. It also provides easy access to the other four significant freeways and Long Beach Harbors.

As a large, spacious community, Inglewood, CA real estate is home to a variety of homes, varying from multi-unit abodes to single-family residences for sale and apartment complexes. Within Inglewood, you'll find 10 neighborhoods, each with unique flair: Downtown, Fairview Heights, Arbor Village, Morningside Park, Sports Village, Century Heights, Inglewood Knolls, Lockhaven, Centinela Heights, and Hollypark Knolls.

Morningside is one of Inglewood's most significant commercial districts due to housing the renowned entertainment venue, The Forum. Sports fans will recognize The Forum as the place where the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings played for over three decades. The Forum is slated to host the gymnastic events for the 2028 Summer Olympics. The Village at the Century shopping center is also located in Morningside along with three exclusive, gated communities: Briarwood Village, The Renaissance, and Carlton Square.

One of the biggest draws to the area is the SoFi Stadium, which usurped the spot previously held by the Hollywood Park Racetrack. The stadium is the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers and will play a critical role in the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Regarding the local dining scene, Inglewood is replete with international flavors, from Jamaican to Ethiopian, Burmese, Mexican, Somalian, Cuban, and more. Banadir Somali is a family-run restaurant and neighborhood hangout serving generous portions of Somali staples. Veronica's Kitchen is a casual West African café, while Rusty Pot Cafe specializes in no-frills Southern cooking.

Randy's Donuts is world-famous for a reason, they're one of the top donut shops in the country, and Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles is a renowned soul food restaurant with incredible chicken and waffles, as the name suggests. The Inglewood Marketplace is a spacious mall housing clothing, electronics, home goods, and several casual dining options. You'll also want to add the health food restaurant Simply Wholesome and local brewery Three Weavers to your list of places to check out!

Beyond their commercial offerings, Inglewood is also a mecca for artists and creatives. Their annual Open Studio event is a festive weekend tour of artist studios that features photography, drawing, painting, and more. A group of volunteer artists supported by the Inglewood Cultural Arts organization put together the event every year.
